upload your own sequence 1. Go to the NCBI Taxonomy Browser.
2. Click ‘Taxonomy’ (in the top menu).
3. Search for an organism and click on it.
4. Copy the organism’s Taxon ID.
5. Go here, but add your Taxon ID to the end of the url.
6. Click on one of the gene IDs.
7. Find ‘NCBI Reference Sequences (RefSeq)’.
8. Under ‘Genomic’, click the download option for ‘FASTA’.
You should see a long sequence like ‘ACCGT...’.
9. Paste these characters into a .txt file.
10. Remove line breaks (make everything one line).
11. Your DNA file is ready to upload! go back
